In 2021, Nakul Sehgal, an experienced entrepreneur in energy infrastructure, was approached by an acquaintance with a vision for a Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant using agricultural residue. That conversation sparked a journey — one that led him deep into the villages of Punjab, where stubble burning had become an environmental crisis. He saw both the problem and the opportunity: tons of unutilized biomass, choking the air and wasting value.
Alongside Vishal Mehra, a long-time collaborator with roots in sustainability and logistics, Nakul co-founded Earth Renewables. Together, they set out not just to build a business, but to build a model of clean energy rooted in rural empowerment and environmental impact.

Built from the Ground Up
Instead of relying on middlemen, they invested in their own baling machines, tractors, rakers, and transport systems, creating a fully self-sufficient field-to-factory model. They didn’t just study the supply chain — they built it themselves. From coordinating with farmers during the tight 45-day window to processing briquettes and pellets in-house, Earth Renewables was forged through hands-on execution and a belief in long-term value.
Today, Earth Renewables is more than a fuel provider. It’s a bridge between rural India’s untapped resources and the industrial world’s growing demand for clean, cost-effective, and scalable energy. And this is only the beginning.
